This restaurant has been completely remodeled so it is nice for an OCB. However, when I came in for Friday dinner I was shocked that my tab came to almost $18 for ONE PERSON. Well, I think, it's seafood night and it looks like they have some new and special things, so I'll try it. I was sorry. Here are some of my issues. The string beans were very salty, the salmon was fishy tasting, I didn't try the carved roast beef because it looked pretty dry, the steak was just your average buffet steak (to be expected), the calamari had too much breading, the breading was very bland, and the calamari tough and rubbery, the breading on the coconut shrimp was mushy and slid off, there was some shrimp entree in one of those little skillets that was unidentifiable but I did not like the taste and the tiny shrimp were shriveled and tough, the individual cheesy hashbrown servings were dry, the bread pudding was hard as a rock. Some of the mini skillet entrees came with rice which I did not want and therefore it was wasted which I didn't like. (Seems their new thing is to put some entrees into individual serving dishes, which to me means you can't take how much or little you want so if you only wanted to try it you have to take the whole thing and waste it if you don't like it, they seem to dry out and cool off faster, and you end up with a ton of little dishes on your table.) So OCB is now NO CB for me!

I have started going here every week. We used to go once or twice a year. I love the changes to the atmosphere and the food. Especially the food! The staff is always very friendly. I hope they keep up the good work.

Nice Little OCB. Been a few years since I have gone but they still have hot pudding cake, mac n cheese, and they changed their fried fish recipe so its even better than before. (Even if the portions are smaller, its a buffet, just grab some more!) They also added a stir fry night and it isnt half bad. Weird that they would also have a taco bar that same night but whatever! My only real disappointment was that you now have to pay for the beverages, otherwise you just get water. Kinda stupid I think but whatever I guess. If they have it on a night one would decide to venture there, try the bourbon style chicken over some rice. Im pretty sure I filled up on that.

Typical buffet. Good variety, average quality.

This buffet offers a wide variety of salads, entrees and desserts. If you go on the weekends or a holiday, they get pretty busy, but otherwise you can usually just walk in and get a table. The place is clean, and the food is kept well-stocked. This is a great place to come with a variety of people; there's something for everyone.

It's an Old Country Buffet. Lots of food and good variety. None of it particularly great, but all OK. My 4-year old son likes the jello and we all like the deserts. A good value, especially if you sign up for their e-mail offers or use a coupon from the paper. Kids are $0.60 per year.

Yuck,Yuck,Yuck!!! What a waste of $30 (for two people to eat and $3 each for soda) we will NEVER come back. We started with the salad bar: The so called "Caesar salad" had blue cheese dressing on it, the potato salad had a rancid taste, the cottage cheese tasted like it was spoilt. After deciding that maybe our lunch in the cooked section would be better we headed over there between my party we had: The pot roast was bland, the carrots and potatoes tasted like cardboard, the califlour and cheese was so gross I ended up spitting it out it tasted like it had been there for about a week not only that they cooked the whole head and threw it in the pan making you cut your own pieces off (the pot roast was done in the same manor). I choose a slice of pizza hoping they couldn't screw that up but they did the cheese was rubbery there was way to much tomato sauce and the crust wasn't even cooked in the center it was RAW!!!!! Here is the kicker the fried chicken was PINK!!!!!! Very undercooked chicken it was pink and rubbery, we had a plate to share legs/thighs/wings we ate what we could but I couldn't trust eating any more of it. Even the chicken noodle soup had pink pieces of chicken in it!! For desert I choose some cookies the oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip were good but whatever the other one was it was really nasty it tasted like leftover oatmeal from breakfast rolled into a cookie shape. By the time we got home we both had pain in our tummies and felt like throwing up, I have never felt so grossed out and sick after eating out before. I got better quality and tasting food when I was in school or when I was in the hospital than I did here!!!

My mom and I stopped in for a late lunch (about 2pm) on a Saturday. We were both very disappointed. I chose macaroni and cheese, chicken strips, jello, a buttered roll, asiago ravioli and cheesy hashbrowns. My mom had breaded fish, macaroni and cheese, chicken strips, Asian chicken and brussel sprouts. My jello was ok, the buttered roll was good and the cheesy hashbrowns were really good - the ravioli was mushy and the macaroni had no flavor and the chicken strips were so hard I was worried I'd break a tooth. My mom enjoyed her fish and the Asian chicken, but that was it. The only saving factor here was the absolutely fabulous bread pudding I had for dessert. And my mom really enjoyed the dessert she chose (sorry, I can't remember which one). Neither one of us will be going back anytime soon if only half the food we eat is going to be edible.

We took the kids out for lunch at Coon Rapids Old Country Buffet. The food was delicious. The waitress brought around cookies for the kiddos what a great experience for the first-time taking the family out for Lunch at Old Country Buffet.

My husband and I visited this restaurant on 3/16/2014 for breakfast buffet. Something horrible happened when I ate one of their waffles. I found wax paper in my waffle. I believe from the way that I cut my waffle it looked as if I had already eaten some of it. I can't even give this restaurant a rating of 1. The manager didn't even offer to refund us our money, but offered a a free complimentary meal. He must be out of his dam mind if he thinks we will be returning to this horrible place of hell. On top of everything the food was just horrible. The waitress that we had was really nice. Never again people!

My boyfriend and I came here with the idea of trying out the "new and improved" old country buffet. Upon entering this establishment we were pleasantly surprised by the newly updated interior however this is where the excitement stops. We were both stunned to find out that drinks were an additional expense on top of the original buffet price as if a diner would sit and consume dinner without a beverage. The food is the same Ole food as it has been forever with an occasional dish served in its own portioned out serving dish. If you are hoping for the "new and improved" Old Country buffet, prepare to be disappointed.
